At Cheticamp Boatbuilders, we are looking for a Welder/fabricator/mechanic to join our team.

Location: 80 Hache Road, Cheticamp Nova Scotia

Duration: Full-time, permanent position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transfer detailed sketches and AutoCAD designs to the fabrication process.
  • Plan, fabricate, and weld intricate boat components.
  • Install newly fabricated/repaired components to boats
  • Repair components aboard boats
  • Operate mobile welding machine aboard vessels
  • Capable and comfortable driving company vehicles while towing and carrying mobile gear
  • Will require cross training in fiberglass and painting as project schedules demand.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Competent and confident in the 4 primary forms of welding (MIG/TIG/SMAW/FCAW)
  • Capable of physically demanding labour, long hours, and sometimes compromising positions
  • Willing to work in confined spaces
  • Comfortable and capable of working as a team/tandem/solo

Education:

  • We require a Red Seal welder, or of a comparable level of experience.
