Role Overview

TorqNorth is looking for a hands-on Frontend Software Developer to help lead the delivery of custom software solutions for our clients across Canada.

In this role, you will lead development projects from requirements through delivery, while also contributing directly to architecture, implementation, code review, and team mentorship. You will work closely with clients, developers, and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions are technically strong, aligned with client needs, and delivered to a high standard.

Our core application stack includes Symfony on the backend and React with TypeScript on the frontend.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience building and delivering software applications.
  • Strong experience with modern web development and the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with Symfony, React, and TypeScript, or strong experience with comparable modern web frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, code quality, and maintainable system design.
  • Experience gathering requirements and turning them into clear technical solutions.
  • Experience reviewing code and providing technical guidance to other developers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing client expectations, timelines, and delivery risk.
  • Experience working with sensitive or regulated data.
  • Understanding of project management and business analysis practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and modern deployment environments such as Azure 
  • A track record of self-directed learning, growth, and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with Indigenous organizations, governments, or communities.
  • Experience in client-facing consulting or professional services environments.
  • Experience with integrations, infrastructure planning, and application security.
  • Experience with AI tools and agentic engineering
