We are looking for a - Behavioural Support Implementor (BSI) (2 TFT positions available)
Position Overview:
The Behavioural Support Implementor (BSI) is a member of the GoodLife & Social Support team at Breton Ability. Reporting directly to the Manager of GoodLife & Social Support, this role works in close collaboration with the Behaviourist and the multidisciplinary team to implement individualized behaviour support plans and contribute to consistent, rights‑based supports.
This position also provides administrative and coordination support to the Behaviourist, including data collection, documentation, tracking progress, and assisting with preparation of behavioural materials and reports.
Guided by the Nova Scotia Human Rights Remedy, the Behavioural Support Implementor helps advance Breton Ability’s transition to community‑based, person‑directed, and dignity‑of‑risk approaches. The role supports individuals in building confidence, enhancing skills, and participating meaningfully in their communities while ensuring interventions reflect trauma‑informed, evidence‑based practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Behavioural Support &
Implementation
·
Implement behaviour support plans developed by the Behaviourist.
·
Support individuals in developing coping, emotional regulation, and
adaptive skills.
·
Collect and document data to monitor progress and inform program
adjustments.
·
Provide administrative support related to behavioural programming and
reporting.
2. Skill Development &
Programming
·
Assist in developing and delivering individualized, person-centred
skill-building programs.
·
Create and maintain structured teaching materials (e.g., visual
supports, communication tools, social stories).
·
Support alignment of programming with Personal Development Plans and
individual goals.
3.
Collaboration & Team Support
·
Coach and support direct support staff in applying positive behaviour
support strategies.
·
Collaborate with internal teams, allied health professionals, and
external partners.
·
Communicate observations or concerns impacting safety, wellbeing, or
progress.
4.
Team & Organizational Contribution
·
Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
·
Promote a culture grounded in dignity, human rights, trauma-informed
practice, and community inclusion.
·
Assist with training coordination and documentation as needed.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
·
Advanced Diploma or Degree in Behavioural Intervention or a related
Human Services field (equivalent education and experience may be considered).
·
Experience implementing behavioural strategies and supporting
individuals with varying abilities.
·
Knowledge of person-centred practice, trauma-informed approaches, and
the Nova Scotia Human Rights Remedy.
·
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
·
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends based on program
needs.

Abilities
·
Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
·
Effective organizational and time management abilities.
·
Strong observation, problem-solving, and data collection skills.
·
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems.
·
Ability to follow established support plans with consistency and take
direction as required.
·
Professionalism, emotional intelligence, and the ability to positively
support and influence others.
